Refrigerated Dryers

CONSISTENT DEWPOINT at 0%-100% CAPACITY

Mikropor VT/MB dryers are the industry leading non-cycling refrigerated dryer for compressed air. VT Refrigerated Air Dryers are designed for European market requirements. MB Refrigerated Air Dryers are designed for the North American market requirements.

With over 25 years of use around the world, Mikropor dryers have proven to be easy to maintain and very durable. With leading refrigeration components, the unique Mono-Bloc heat exchanger and environmentally friendly refrigerants, MB & VT dryers consistently deliver 38° F dewpoint.

FULL RANGE: Mikropor offers a variety of VT/MB dryers - equipped with the Mono-Block Heat Exchanger - to meet a full range of capacity and power requirements.

REFRIGERATION CIRCUIT

VT/MB dryers feature the high-performance, industrial strength, Mono-Block Heat Exchanger – the world’s most unique and proven design that guarantees consistent dewpoint performance at 0-100% capacity.

HOW DOES THE MONO-BLOCK HEAT EXCHANGER SYSTEM WORK ? The air/air heat exchanger, air/refrigerant heat exchanger and moisture separator are constructed together as an efficient single system.

  1. The 1st phase is called the Economiser because it delivers great energy savings by significantly reducing the heat load of the inlet air. The Economiser pre-cools hot inlet compressed air with dry, cool air leaving the heat exchanger.
  2. In the 2nd phase, the refrigerant/air heat exchanger cools the already pre-cooled air to achieve the target dew point.
  3. In the 3rd phase, the integrated moisture separator, located at the bottom of the vertically-oriented, gravity-assisted MB heat exchanger, removes 99.99% of the water to supply a real 37°F dew point.
  4. Liquid is automatically drained using a very reliable float drain -- or an optional electronic timer controlled solenoid valve. Moisture free air then flows through the inner tube to the outlet -- while also efficiently pre-cooling hot inlet compressed air.

STRONG DESIGN, LOW PRESSURE DROP, HIGH EFFICIENCY, COMPACT SIZE: Mono-Block Heat Exchangers are constructed with thick, steel tubes specially treated to resist corrosion. This heavy-duty steel contruction of the Mono-Block Heat Exchanger makes it the most reliable, long lasting heat exchanger available.

HYPER-EFFICIENCY : Specially designed louvred pleats on the copper fins -- welded to the steel tubes with a proprietary technology -- achieve a hyper-efficient 100% contact between the air and refrigerant circuits.

ENERGY SAVER: The state-of-the-art VT/MB design features very low differential pressure – delivering real energy savings.

COMPACT DESIGN: The Mono-Block heat-exchanger is compact and allows the VT/MB Dryer to be smaller – reducing the space required for the dryer.

Sizing Formula is:

(Max SCFM) * (Factor for Inlet Temp & Pressure) * (Factor for Ambient Temp) = Corrected SCFM

For Example: If 50 SCFM of dry air is required and conditions are:

  1. 110°F compressed air inlet temperature at 100 PSIG

  2. 110°F ambient temperature maximum

An upgrade to model MB65 is recommended.
